Pure Moor Body Wrap Treatment
The ELIXEA Body Wrap detoxifies, revitalizes & refreshes the body, helping the skin to regain suppleness and elasticity. It is an effective treatment for cellulite, weight loss, stretch-marks & scar tissue.
sBBThis treatment should be carried out in a wet-room. If no wet-room is available we recommend the ELIXEA Moor or Seaweed Gel Body Wrap (see below).
sBBPrepare the treatment table by covering with a heavy towel, then placing a large plastic sheet over the table. The client should shower or bathe, cleansing the skin with ELIXEA Cleansing Bar or Shower Gel. If no facilities are available, ask the client to shower before coming for the treatment.
sBBThe first step in the treatment is always exfoliation. There are two alternatives: firstly the ELIXEA Salt Glow (see below) can be carried out as separate treatment prior to the Body Wrap; or, secondly, dry brushing using a natural fibre mitt or skin brush can be carried out as part of the treatment. In this case we recommend following Dr Berkowsky's Vital Chi Skin Brushing System.
sBBAfter exfoliation, the client lies face down on the table, and the back of the body is prepared.
sBBFirstly apply ELIXEA Complete Oil. This needs only to be briefly massaged into the skin as it absorbs very quickly and will help to prevent the pure Moor mask from drying out on the skin. Ensure that the oil has been completely absorbed before applying the Moor paste.
sBBA full body wrap uses 150-200ml (5 to 8 fl.oz.) of ELIXEA Body Mask (approx 25-30 wraps per 180 litre container). The mask may be warmed up by placing a stainless steel bowl containing the paste in hot water prior to application. A few drops of water may be added to adjust the consistency if necessary. The mask can be applied either by hand or with a soft brush.
sBBStart with the ankles and work upwards across the back and arms up to the neck. The paste need not be applied too thickly - just disallow the skin tone to show through.
sBBThe client now rolls over, and the same procedure is repeated on the front of the body - exfoliation, oil application and body mask application. The direction of application is from the ankles upwards covering the tummy and breasts.
sBBThe plastic sheet is now lifted from the sides of the tables and wrapped over the body. Make sure the sheet adheres to the skin all over the body to ensure that there is no airflow over the paste. It is important that the body wrap paste does not dry completely on the body. The plastic sheet is sealed lengthwise and at the feet, and the client is covered with a warm blanket and left to relax for 30 to 40 minutes.
sBBAs an alternative to using a plastic sheet and blanket, a steam cabinet such as a 'Steamy Wonder' may be used to great effect (in this case the duration of the wrap should be reduced to 20 minutes.) Also, some therapists prefer to use hot wet towels draped over the body instead of plastic sheeting. However, the main consideration is to ensure that the paste does not dry out on the body.
sBBAs long as the mask does not dry out, it can easily be removed either in a shower or under a vichy shower. A light film of mask may be left on the body, as it will continue to remain active for up to 24 hours. The ELIXEA Body Lotion should now be applied as an elegant finishing touch to the treatment.
sBBPartial wraps can be applied on areas exhibiting cellulite, stretchmarks or scar tissue in the same way
sBBFor cellulite therapy massage, ELIXEA Contour Cream vigorously into cellulite-prone areas of the body.
sBBAfter the treatment, you may notice some red patches on the client's skin. These indicate areas where the healing Moor agents are at work. Some clients may also notice the need to eliminate more than usual during the hours after the treatment. This indicates that the body is flushing out excess fluids and toxins.
sBBIn order to optimize the effects of the treatment, ELIXEA Herbal Baths should be recommended for home use. Remember that ELIXEA Herbal Infusion or Herbal Essence should always be recommended to clients for internal cleansing, detoxification and rejuvenation as an essential component of any spa treatment. We suggest offering a glass of Herbal Infusion (1 teaspoon mixed with a fruit juice such as cranberry) after the body wrap as part of the treatment.
